Bad comments and wrong focus…

God morgon! What?

//Good morning! How are you? I feel great, will take a walk and then sort things out for the week. Yesterday ended up to be a bit of discussion in the comment field, nothing I use to talk about here but I just wanted to tell you how it is sometimes. I’m really fortunate to have you readers, mostly get lovely comments and nice words from you guys which I’m so glad for. Some people think different and my theory is that they somehow feel better by saying bad things to other people, I see that as a weak person. I can see all the comments from the same ip-address and sometimes it’s pretty fun to read a “mean” comment and then see it’s the same person using different names but saying almost the same things, sometimes in different languages. You can’t think I actually care about these, I mostly feel sorry for them since they feel that I or someone else is disturbing but still wants to waste their time to see/read what that person is doing. For me that just makes no sense but they exist, believe me! You guys who stands up for me in those situations are just too sweet, but you can’t think that I actually let those things get to me. I’m too smart and confident for that, I know who I am and how I look. :-) The discussion was “now when you post a pic in a bikini your ready for comments on your body”. What? Since when is it ok to comment someone else’s body just because you post a pic? Why are bodies such a big focus? It’s a body, it makes it able for you to have fun, walk, run and live life. Looks good, bad, thin or fat, it’s just a body? So tired of it! Everyone looks different and fight for different things, if it’s loosing or gaining weight, put on more muscles or not is up to themselves, nothing anyone else should care about. I feel confident in my body, if I gain or loose 5kg it’s my body that wants it. I know when I feel good and feel happy with myself, and I hope everyone could feel the same and stop focusing on it. Right now the society is a bit off in my opinion and a lot of talking about it, but I don’t want to hear it. Focus more on yourself, if you don’t like anything then change it, but remember that it’s your body that makes it possible for you to have fun if you feel good in it. Now me and my body is heading out for a walk, listen to music and enjoy. Talk soon, hugs!

Hey Janni, thanks for this post. I think its great that you are reacting on last nights conversations in the comment field. I totally agree with you that everyone should focus on theirselves and try to feel comfy in their own bodies just like you do. I also see the point that the person who came up with the whole discussion commented in different names and so on and that the person is no stranger to you. Which is sad I think.
However, I wanted to add a general thought: You said “Since when is it ok to comment someone else’s body just because you post a pic?”. With blogging you share a lot of your personal life and since you post pictures of yourself everyday of course people will have questions about your weight and also be more judgemental. I think it is a bit naive to not expect people to comment on stuff like this as well. I think the whole success of your blog comes at a cost – which is having people commenting on everything.

    Hello, Janni,
it’s the first time I’m writting a comment (although i’m following you about a year).
People are people, sometimes don’t give them to eat, just give to talk.
You are a beautiful girl with an amazing life with a lot of travels and adventures and sometimes people are just jealous why you , not them.
I support you (don’t know it’s good translation) and just know that there will be haters and other followers wishes you all good!
So I wish you just be strong and keep doing what you are doing!

    Hej Janni!!

Men otrolig bra skriven Janni!
Ska kōpa dom, men tvekar over vilken.. :) Hoppas du kan hjälpa mig!

    Hilsninger fra Norge :)

You’re so right ! People are just waisting their time on trying to make us feel bad.

  • Linnea says:

Busted liksom!

  • Marta Fernandes says:

I agree with your thoughts on this matter, we do focus too much on our bodies (I’m definitely guilty of that). Having said that, I’m going to tell you what I think about the comment that sparked yesterday’s discussion. Personally, I don’t think you gained any weight but even if you had the truth is you look amazing. I’ve mentioned to some friends that something I like about the Swedish bloggers whose blogs I read is that you all have different, beautiful bodies that look very healthy. You’re thin, as in you have little to no excess fat, but look very healthy and far from being too thin. Something I personally love is how athletic you all look, even if your bodies are very different. For me you are healthy-looking, strong, confident, beautiful women. You inspire me!

  • viola says:

Janni your time is too precious to care about such people&comments But still you answered very politely, which I think shows that you are a great and smart person :)

  • Janine says:

I love it when you write longer and more personal posts like this one!
Being a blogger myself I can totally relate to what you are saying, because I also sometimes get comments saying I am too skinny.
After all, if we are happy with our body, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says!
You are so smart and beautiful- just stay the way you are!

    Lot of love from Munich!

I think you are very pretty and I love to read your blog, watching pics. I do it cause I like it. And I don’t understand why some people are wasting their time for watching something that they don’t like and comment it in a bad way. They are just jealous and stupid.

  • Anne-Mari says:

    Hey, Janni!
Yesterday I found your blog and I’m so happy that I did, I love it! I really love the layout and just the entire blog. I’m glad that you have translated the texts in English because I don’t really understand Swedish that well YET… That’s great that you did this post because you’re just so right! Everyone should mind their own busyness. Or I mean.. Does it make someone happy if they judge people like that? Of course everyone’s allowed to have their own opinion but… Hope you understood my point!

  • Britta says:

    Hej Janni!

    Kramar!!

  • Chrystin says:

Stay strong, and keep up your positivity Janni! I admire that quality about you because I am a sensitive person and if someone says something mean to me I really take it to heart. I have to learn to adopt an attitude more like yours :-)
I’ll never understand the “haters” or why they feel the need to post mean comments or bring others down. What result are they looking for? Also, it’s sad to see that adults act like this on the internet….seems like very juvenile behavior to me. In this case, the discussion was body image, which unfortunately plays too big of a part in our society. But, if it’s not body image, it’s something else….haters will always find something to pick at! Those people who take the time to bring others down need to find a different hobby!
While I don’t comment all that often, I always read your posts and love following your blog. Keep doing what you do, girl!

    Kisses from Buenos Aires
    xx Chrystin

  • Julie says:

Thumbs up for this honest and meaningful post!!!
You’re doing such an awesome job with your blog and you can feel and see all your energy behind it. In my opinion, you made the absolutely right choice to write down your feelings and to make clear how you think about it. I feel sorry for your, because you just don’t deserve these kind of approach, but I’m also glad that I know this nonsense is not going to get you:)
It’s just so narrow-minded to make comments like that. I think everyone should ask themselves first, if they would like to read such comments and especially how they would feel, when they read stuff like this about their own…
Blogging is about so much more than body. It’s about charisma, attitude, consistency, personality, authencity and much much more. For me you have all that and you should just keep doing what you’re doing, love and think it’s right for you:)
    Love, Julie

Janni, you have just shown how smart you are and that you are better than this. I used to have a fashion blog and I also got mean comments from time to time and I wondered if something is wrong with me. But it’s them. I just don’t know why people actually waste their time on being mean to others. You definitely don’t deserve that, you’re such a beautiful and intelligent person and your blog is a real inspiration. Much love from Poland. xx

    • Alessandra says:

you’re a beautiful girl and you have a beautiful life, unfortunately there are many jealous people who enjoy hurting. you are a public figure so bad people increase… PS sometimes i don’like your outfit but de gustibus non disputandum est.

I guess hate is what happens when you’re successful. :)
I also had an interesting experience this week at college.
I was standing behind a girl (who did not see me) and she was talking sh*t about me. Must admit, at first I was very hurt especially because I have never talked to that girl 1 on 1 in my life. I started wondering what kind of a person I am, if I’m really such a b*tch and so stupid as she described me. But thank god for my friends who helped me to realize and conviced me that the only one who looked stupid in that incident was her. I was honestly so stunned when I heard her words that I had my mouth opened for like 10 seconds. Really never thought that I’d have to establish my social status at college lol. Always thought that all people there are just as determined as me to get a degree and later a good job. But I guess I was wrong. I still don’t know what bothers her about me but I don’t care anymore. I’ve got my friends and as you said, dear Janni, everyone has their own opinion and some people just obviously feel better talikng bad things about other people.
You’re the best and I LOOOOOOOOVE your blog, never miss a post. Hope you’ll post some of your training routines again soon, they help me a lot. :) Hugs <3
