HEALTH CHECK

In collaboration with Executive Health Marbella.

Health check up at Executive Health in Marbella – a full day with full focus on health.

PUSS <3

//Good morning loves! How are you? :-) I feel great! We had such an interesting day yesterday, something I’ve been wanting to do for years. I’m pretty young (hehe) and healthy so some of you guys probably wonder why I did a full body check like this, but if it’s something that interests me it’s body, health and well being. How to optimize life! I guess it’s like when you take pap smear tests, mammography etc – you want to check so everything is good and if you find something that isn’t too serious yet you can change a few things in your life that will change the future. We actually booked a similar thing in Monaco, but had to cancel since Jon went to Portugal so surf… ;-) My dad told us that he booked this in Marbella so we did the same. We arrived in the morning without eating or drinking anything, it was important for the blood tests and the MRI in the stomach. I’ve never been in a tube like this, it seems like a lot of people are scared of it but I fell asleep… Haha! We checked the entire body, heart (I had heart murmur, I think it’s called that, when I was younger), thyroid, blood pressure and also my moles. I have moles all over my body so it’s hard to keep track of them and I’m actually really bad at have them checked, so it was nice to have that done. We’ll get the test results in about 2 weeks, but the tests we got straight away looked good for me. We’re living a pretty healthy life but with a lot of stress, so now I look forward to the results on vitamins etc. I’ll let you know when we have the results! I can truly recommend checking your body even if you feel healthy, they found a few things on Jon that he’s been feeling for a few years but no one has found before. We’ll just have to wait and see what it is and what to do about it, but as I said no one has found it before. The entire place was so beautiful and the staff was incredible, we didn’t even want to leave after 6 hours haha! I would love to do this every year but it’s unnecessary in my age if I’m healthy, I do think it’s incredibly interesting and my body is what determines how I can live my life so to try to have it feel 100% is one of my biggest goals in life. Just let me know if you have any more questions, otherwise I’ll let you know when I have the results! HUGS <3

    How much does it cost?

:) Kram!

    Hi Janni,

thank you for sharing this, it is so important to look after yourself and prevention is the key.
Can you tell how much it can roughly cost and whether the ‘Full body check’ is the formal name? thanks

Hi! You do not need a full body MRI unless you are have symptoms of a disease that would require a diagnostic MRI. Even with symptoms, a responsible ethical doctor, would order you a targeted MRI. For example- head & neck, abdomen, or pelvis.

Agree, as do most doctors. There is absolutely no need to subject perfectly healthy young people to full body MRIs. The risk far outweighs any benefits. You often get findings that look abnormal even though there is not really anything wrong, resulting in terrible anguish for the patient who will have to undergo further testing that is usually invasive, and spending weeks believing that they are dying from cancer… Very few diseases are found through tests like this. They are simply capitalising on (rich…) people’s fears.

    Hi Janni,
I think you forgot to mention the price, it could be interested to know ! It’s nice to talk about this but it feels incomplete if we don’t have the cost of it you know..
also if there is possibilities to be supported by our Health care ?
    thanks !

I’ve considered having a health check as well. Just as you, I’m very interested in the body, how it works, how it’s affected by different mechanisms etc. No matter what age you are, I find it important to treat you’re body well, know how you can optimise your wellbeing and be sure that everything is at it should be. So having a health check definitely seems to be a good idea to do every once in a while, it’s never a bad idea to know what you can do differently to treat your body even better.
I’m very excited to hear about your results!

What you got in that tube is radiation for no reason. I understand you do a blood test, check hormones, etc… there are plenty of other tests you can do to see how your body is doing. Doing MRI for pure curiosity is just wrong. Please stop sharing these serious topics as there are probably other young and uninformed girls reading this thinking this is right thing to do.

hello Janni, this type of analysis is very speciaistic, not a routine test, and it is performed only in presence of specific symptoms, first should be done blood tests, I hope you have done them and that the results are positive, I say this because I am a doctor, hope all will be fine..bye

    • cynthia says:

I agree. MRI is a very specific test to be done only in the presence of symptoms or other positive lab tests. No responsible doctor’s perform these at random at the will of “patient” willing to pay out of pocket.

  • hilde says:

    hva koster en slik undersøkelse??

  • MD says:

It is important that you at least mention what this type of check up costs – some people reading this will go to their GP demanding a full body MRI. Though in many countries, including Sweden where i guess most of your readers are from, most medical care is state funded. Full body MRI is extremely costly and practically never indicated. Targeted MRI should be done when there is a medical indication. However, if you pay for it I am fine with this type of check-ups if the person is aware that many things in our bodies (cysts, diverticulosis, spinal hernia, spondylosis etc) can be present without giving symptoms. There is also no evidence regarding vitamin levels unless you have symptoms

If you are truly interested in how the body works you should read books and articles (not sponsored articles) or talk to a good doctor. We (doctors) study practically all our lives to know all there is to know about the body. Taking a full body MRI and “all the tests” available” will not give you the answers. But, since you pay for it I guess it is fine. Then there is people with cancer/progressive neurological diseases relying on state funded medical care who waits months for a MRI.

All of this is not to give you a bad conscience but rather to give some perspective. I hope you find what you´re looking for!
